A Mustard Seed in Mumbai

Kingdom Rain created a small group study called A Mustard Seed in Mumbai. We designed it to be used by our ministry partners and their friends. This study focuses on fulfilling the Great Commission by growing a disciplemaking movement in the least reached regions of the world.

Participants will watch a documentary that traces the story of an orphan who struggled to survive on the streets of Mumbai and who became one of the most influential church planters in India.

Each of the five sessions includes:

  • Bible reading
  • A screening of one chapter of the documentary
  • Group discussion

Session 1: Orphan on the Streets (9:42)
Meet Shankar and hear about his impoverished life as a young boy, including his amazing conversion to Christ.

Session 2: Miracles in Mumbai (12:07)
Discover how God protects and provides for Shankar as he takes risks to share Christ with his community.

Session 3: From Addition to Multiplication (8:52)
Learn how God supernaturally brings Shankar and Kingdom Rain together at just the right time and place.

Session 4: Mobilizing a Movement (7:55)
Find out how God grows his kingdom through Shankar’s life and ministry.

Session 5: Piercing the Darkness (8:33)
Get inspired by how Shankar and his ministry face major challenges, such as COVID-19.

This study is perfect for a family devotional or a small group experience with friends.
