The tenth day of Christmas is traditionally known as the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. It commemorates when Jesus was officially named in the Jewish temple.
Kobe, who leads our ministry in Central Asia, has been investing in the next generation. He has selected a group of leaders to develop into mentor trainers. They are indigenous Uzbeks who can be more effective at reaching deeper into Uzbek/non-urban cultures. Additionally, he has been personally discipling a few younger men who are involved in ministry. Kobe has also started training leaders in an Uzbek church that is part of a national network.
The Uzbek government is considering making a law that would greatly impact foreigners. It would require foreigners to have $50,000 in a bank account to live in Uzbekistan for more than 12 months. This would greatly affect Kobe and his family’s ability to live in Uzbekistan, since they are originally from another Central Asian country.
Pray that the leaders Kobe is training will effectively reach others in Uzbekistan. Pray that his family will be able to stay in Uzbekistan, and pray for them to be healthy, since the air is so polluted where they live.
