Dinar & PriyankaBangladesh

In 18th century England, British children sang “The 12 Days of Christmas” as a memory-and-forfeit game. Players had to remember all of the previous verses and add a new verse; otherwise they would pay a forfeit to the others, such as a piece of candy.

Dinar is a Muslim-background believer (MBB) who lives in southwest Bangladesh with his wife and 3-year-old son. Dinar first heard the gospel from his uncle, but Dinar believed that Jesus was a prophet, not the Son of God, and that the Bible could not be trusted. Dinar’s uncle convinced him to go to a discipleship training school, but he went only so he could learn more about Christianity and prove his uncle wrong. One month into the training, the gospel was shared with his class, and everyone who accepted Christ was asked to stand up. Dinar was the only one who did not stand up.

But that night, at 2am, Dinar had a dream. He was in a church, but it was also a stadium, and he was on the running track. Jesus was behind him, wearing multiple colors and a traditional hat for Muslims in Bangladesh. Jesus told him, “Run this path for me.” When Dinar woke up, he started weeping and became a follower of Jesus in 2012, at age 20.

Now Dinar and his uncle work with a ministry that reaches out to Muslims in Bangladesh through seeker camps. The camps help them build relationships and confront the lies that many Muslims believe. Dinar also leads a ministry of prayer and healing for locals.

Pray for the church in Bangladesh to be strengthened. Many fellowships are hesitant to receive new converts because they are afraid of the persecution that could come from the community as a result. Pray that God enables Dinar and Priyanka to reach the Muslim majority people of Bangladesh.
