Textual evidence suggests that “The 12 Days of Christmas” song has French origins. For example, it wasn’t until the late 1770s that the partridge was introduced to England from France.

Before Surya came to the Lord, he was a Hindu. He worshipped many gods and goddesses, and he also worshipped nature. He believed in witchcraft and shamans. He first heard about Jesus through a friend in his neighborhood. Surya decided that this was the true message, and he believed in Jesus. After that, he abstained from his bad drinking habits, and he began to regularly attend church services and Christian trainings. In 2012 he became a pastor. To better serve his flock, he studied to receive a Master of Divinity. Surya used to run his own school and other businesses, but he handed them off to other people so he could be in full-time ministry.

Surya is now the president of a network of 80 churches in Taplejung, Nepal. It is the largest church network in the district. Taplejung is a high-altitude, mountainous district in the Himalayas, without good roads. In August 2023, Kingdom Rain began training 110 leaders from this network of churches in Taplejung.

Pray for a spirit of unity among the leaders of Taplejung and that they will be grounded in the Word of God. Pray for open doors to bring the gospel to unreached, remote villages, especially the six villages that have been identified as high priority.
