Zakir & ShaminBangladesh

Some families exchange gifts on all 12 days of Christmas, not just on December 25th. Each gift might represent a wish for a corresponding month of the year.

Shamin was born into a Muslim family and studied the Koran. One day, a Muslim-background believer gave her a Bible. Shamin asked God, “Give me wisdom so I can understand your truth.” Over time, God spoke to her, and she decided to believe in Jesus in 2005, along with her sister and mother.

The Muslim community assumed that Christians had given Shamin’s family lots of money to change their faith. Villagers threw stones and bricks at their house night after night, and they told people to stay away from Shamin’s family. But God helped Shamin’s family, and eventually they started a church.

Now, after attending our training, they are equipped to make disciples. Shamin has a heart for women’s ministry. Shamin’s husband, Zakir, is a prominent Muslim-background believer leader. When he attended our training, it was his first time participating in an event with Hindu-background believers. After studying the life of Jesus, Zakir now understands why the two communities need to love one another and work together to bring God’s kingdom to Bangladesh. Zakir and Shamin are key leaders who are helping to strategize and implement Kingdom Rain’s training throughout Bangladesh.

Pray for God to protect them as they actively oversee KR training throughout Bangladesh. Pray for Zakir and Shaminina as they balance ministry demands and parenting their son.
